Providing all children with an opportunity to participate in gymnastics is important to us at Werribee Gymnastics. Where possible we will include children with additional needs into our mainstream programs, however, this is not the right choice for all children. Therefore we offer an number of different programs that we hope will assist all children to participate in gymnastics.
Our additional programs are Sensory Stepping Stones and ASD PlayGym. We are also taking expressions of interest to run the Special Olympics Australia Young Athletes Program. Details of these programs are below.

ASD PlayGym
ASD PlayGym sessions are specifically for 2-5 year old children with autism. We understand finding a class that is welcoming and suitable for a child with autism can sometimes be difficult, however that this doesn't mean children and their families should miss out.
ASD PlayGym sessions are are all about children having fun and exploring a range of gross motor skills at their own pace. Each session a qualified KinderGym Coach will set up a variety of activities using the gymnastics equipment. Children can then freely explore the activities, with lots of opportunities to balance, roll, jump, swing, hang and climb!
To make these sessions ASD friendly we have included a number of modifications;
Werribee Gymnastics Club also has a Social Story available for families to utilise. See file below.
Class Timetable: ASD PlayGym is currently not running weekly, this class is occasionally offered as a casual class during school holidays.
